Dr. Sarah O'Callaghan is Retiring ...more
Many of you may have seen Dr. O'Callaghan as their family doctor over the past years. Dr. O'Callaghan has been with Southlea Group Practice since 1984.
During that time she may well have been your mother's doctor before you were born, and has since been involved in you and your children's care.
MARCH 31st 2012 shall be the last day at work for Dr. O'Callaghan, as she has decided to lay down her stethoscope and retire from the surgery.
We should like to make a memory keepsake for the doctor, using your help to do so, just as she has helped you and your families in the past. We would be grateful fo you to write a small word of thanks, a moment you remember or simply good luck.
Please as the receptionist for a card which you may post into the box provided.
FREE Chlamydia Tests for Under 25's ...more
Chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted infection amongst young people and can cause serious problems if it isnt treated. Most people with Chlamydia wont have any symptoms, so the only way you can be certain you dont have it is by taking a test today.
If youre aged between 15 and 24 and live in Hampshire then you can get a free test.
Its as easy as peeing in a pot, and you get your results only two weeks later.
If you want a testing kit you can ask the receptionist otherwise click here to order your free test now from the www.haveyougotit.nhs.uk website.
GP Registrars, Junior Doctors and Medical Students ...more
The Practice has been accredited as a training practice for GP Registrars. These are fully-qualified doctors training to become GP's and are likely to have a lot of experiemce in hopital medicine. These doctors are overseen by their GP trainer Dr. Scott-Perry.
Junior Doctors (called ST and FY2 doctors) also join the practice for a few months at a time. These are newly qualified doctors on attachment from Frimley Park Hospital.
Medical Students are placed with the practice from St George's, Tooting or Southampton Medical Schools. All medical students will one day be practising doctors and we feel it is an important part of their education to see patients and learn from them. You will be informed if a medical student is in attendance and if you prefer, you may ask that they are not present during your consultation.
